Spiritual Balance

DSCF3164Each day, as I read about world events, I want to move to an isolated cabin in North Carolina or Georgia to escape. I imagine a life where I can disconnect from the pain and insanity.

Of course, for many reasons this is not possible or realistic.

How do we maintain our spiritual balance in a world we can’t comprehend?

I believe we must begin to devote more time each day for prayer. Prayer is where we will find peace and perspective. Prayer is where we can lift up those in need.

My prayer for today is for us to talk with God about expanding our prayer time. Talk with God in more detail about what we can’t understand. Pray for guidance and healing. Pray for peace.

I say very simply to God what I wish to say, without composing beautiful sentences, and he always understands me.”

An isolated cabin in North Carolina isn’t the answer either, Rick. We have one and the bears and coyotes have our number. Thankfully, Papa God can bring peace to us anywhere, anytime.

    • It sure sounds tempting to just “get away from it all” but I know that is not what I am called to do. Planning some retreat and renewal time for my spiritual growth so I can be stronger in my faith in the world. Blessings for your day, with some extra chocolate!!

I know the feeling… I always feel closest to God when on retreats away from the craziness of life. But I am SO thankful that we can have access to Him anytime! Hallelujah!

  3. Check out my latest post, it would mean a lot 🙂
