The Heavy Stone

IMG_0971Easter service at my church last night helped me begin a conversation with God which continues today. Prayerful conversation about the symbolism of a verse in Luke:

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.”

– Luke 24: 2-3

How many heavy stones are in our lives? Barriers which (often in my case) are self-imposed or seemingly placed by others? Barriers which prevent us from living up to our full potential…from living the life God wants us to live.

They found the stone rolled away…”

God wants me to see the symbolism of the stone being rolled away from the tomb and the power He has to help us roll away the heavy barriers in our lives.

As God and I continue this conversation, He is helping me identify and see what needs to be rolled away. For my Easter devotional I wanted to share this with you!

My prayer is for us to talk with God today … to give thanks … to know that with Him our personal  heavy stones and barriers can be identified and moved. Talk with God His plan and how breaking through our barriers  can be our Easter miracle!

Amen! Hope you had a happy Easter. I spent a lot of time looking at your photograph of the bench (Jesus crucified) and reflected and prayed. We cherish that gift– both gifts! The photograph and our salvation.

Great picture and piece. Never thought of the stone that way. What an interesting take.
