Strong Tower

IMG_2036During our walk of faith, we will have the opportunity to witness and encourage those who are spiritually seeking or struggling. It is so important for us to be patient and listen. Allow God to guide us to be with that person where they happen to be…not where we expect them to be.

Perhaps, we might have to run with a person. Side by side, step for step.

I was running this morning. I have written posts about anxiety and depression as a way to share my walk of faith and possibly increase awareness. What or who was I running from? I was running in the opposite direction of God.

I was guided to the verse below which provides such a wonderful image:

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”

– Proverbs 18: 10

When I run in the opposite direction of God, His strong tower becomes more distant. This verse is a wonderful comfort for me this morning. God helps me visualize turning around and running toward Him. There is safety in the strong tower. I must keep running.

Loved this, Rick. A great word. Thank you.

  3. Loved this. A great Word. Thanks. I have a son who is “running a hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction…” (from a song) This was a comfort to my weary-mother-heart. I know he will turn around one day and find safety in the Lord.

Amen and amen! You are destined for GREATNESS!
