Five Days Of Thanks

IMG_2036

During my coffee time with God this morning, we thought about the past year and what I am thankful for.

On our walk of faith, thankfulness is an important component. When things are going well, it seems easy to be thankful for our blessings. When times are more challenging, well…not so much. At least, not for me.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

– 1 Thessalonians 5:18

What I appreciate about this verse is the clarity of this instruction being God’s will! This verse has stopped me in my tracks many times. What is there to give thanks about in this situation? How could this be allowed to happen? How can I be thankful for this?

As I think about this year, I would like to thank my band of writers from the Brandon Christian Writers group. I remember walking in the first meeting, not knowing anyone, certainly not feeling like a writer and feeling so very welcomed. Community. Relationship. Friendship.

The group is symbolic of our walk of faith and people we will meet. People who are spiritually seeking can express their love of God in their writing. People who are presently blessed and people experiencing a variety challenges in their lives can begin their writing journey. Encourage them! Share the beginning of your writing.

On our walk of faith, we can encourage people to write! A simple journal is a wonderful place to begin which can be a wonderful resource for spiritual revelation.

Thank you Brandon Christian Writers! Merry Christmas!
