I often turn to the poetry of Daniel Trosper for encouragement. After writing my earlier post and then seeing the wonderful comment from Belinda, I would like to share this verse from Daniel Tropser’s poem, “Better Than Good.”
“Speaking for all that you know is true is easy to say and harder to do – Staying quiet while the world falls away is easily done when it’s harder to say – Speakers of faith face disdain, derision…..sustain, refrain, one makes a decision.”
As always, I am in awe of Dan’s poetry.
Today, my prayer is for us to talk with God about this…about, “one makes a decision.” Talk with God where He wants us to stand. Talk with God who He wants us to speak for. My prayer is for us to speak for those who have no chance of being heard.
I continue to see myself as a little voice, but as I talk with God about little voices, I am encouraged. Each time we add another little voice, the more we will be heard.
Dan shared the following verse the evening he read this poem to us:
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and the rest will be given to you as well.”
